When I am on Instagram I commonly view a mix of brand marketing and influencer marketing. Brand marketing is a type of marketing that promotes a company’s brand along with their products/services while influencer marketing involves a brand working with online personalities who can impact their followers purchasing decision based on their reputation. Brand and influencer marketing is reflected in my life through the choices I make about what I buy or wear as I am often influenced by the brand’s perception, advertisements that land on my feed at a time that I am seeking something specific, or even social media trends through influencers that shape my preferences of what I buy when it comes to clothes, beauty products, or even health products.
